Sonja Roberson

The sun is in her name. It must be where she comes from – down under where the sun shines most of the time. We came to know this sunshine lady at a family camp. She welcomed us with a warm smile, casually dressed.

Since then we met a few times again. Authentic – lived wholeheartedly and with vulnerability. This was Sonja, what you see is what you get. In our conversations we learned that her life had its darker moments as well. She dealt with pain in a positive way. It made her beautiful and approachable.

In sharing life, we saw her love for Frank and the boyz, her friends and family. Life was a gift and she took full advantage of it.

Encouragement was her mother tongue.

One evening, at an open worship time, she was dancing with her Frank in God’s presence, dancing with God, dancing with Frank…

She said to us, also coming from the southern hemisphere and loving our Father with a passion, “You do realise that God sent you here just for me?”

We know she is still dancing.

Her sun will shine in our memories because she shared her bit of heaven with us. Her life was a gift to us.
