(saw this in a magazine. ‘60-word fiction’. gave it a shot…)
he picked her up as planned.
a call on his mobile confirmed some mysterious arrangement.
just then, a small airstrip with plane and pilot appeared.
heart pounding, they soared into the clouds. where was he taking her?
minutes later she edged closer, peering through the window. in total disbelief she giggled. the airstrip far below read:
‘will you marry me?’
