God’s Gift of One Another
January
You are the gift.
I am the gift.
Although we are still within the all messy, liminal space, catching up with people got us going after the Christmas break.
We celebrated a number of lives (birthdays) – a 60 years one and a 50 years. The special ones were the 62 years one and the 30 years one! True gifts!
We celebrated and still do, the wonderful caring people at Kirsty’s centre who now takes care of her 3 nights a week to give us some breathing space. No battles, no antennas scanning surroundings to provide in the needs of one someone. Only ourselves to think of! It remains an uncomfortable process of letting go and letting others take care… Tiredness remains.
Together, we are now able to join a home group of warm, caring people on one of the evenings.
Then Jesus’ gift of ‘IS-ness’ was celebrated in and through Wim in Augsburg, Germany at the Gebetshaus (house of prayer). It was his annual visit of a week, sharing about the Father’s gift of life and love to ALL through the example of Jesus’ life. He shared 6 hours per day with a group of about 50 young people dedicated to living a life of connecting, prayer and worship. This house has been going for more than 10 years with 24/7 prayer. His gift to them? Sharing his personal, ongoing, growing journey of life to compliment his teaching, holding space for broken young people (as we all are) by listening and encouraging them towards eternal Light and Life. No journey is easy. Their gift to him? Allowing him to participate with Jesus in what He is doing in them – the gentle touch that heals.
