Some of my Best Friends are White by Ndumiso Ngcobo
(Subversive thoughts from an urban Zulu Warrior)
Through the eyes of a Zulu man (I grew up in Zululand – today called, KwaZulu-Natal), we look at life in Rainbow Nation South Africa – about minibus-taxis, working with ‘whiteys’ in big companies, the Indian community, violence, life in the suburbs and townships, raising children and more.
It was like climbing through that hole in the wall that divide us and having a look at life on the other side. How poor I am (we are) for not being encouraged to and not willing to do just that, much earlier in my life. I’ve missed out on ‘ryk en lekker’!
